Re: VF Commodore Steering Rack

can you take a short table with it at centre, then turn it half way left, take another sample, fully left, another sample, same for right? Should be enough to see what numbers are going up and down with the steering angle, and get you the value for centre, full left and full right. Some kind of peri...

Re: E38 non communicative ECU

It sounds like writing the key didn't work. Try FFFF as the key (blank segment in the chip is all FFFF). Failing that, brute force to see what's going on, and failing that, or if it is blank and VIN and other data is missing use BDM to re-write the whole flash.

Re: How do we program a Holden BCM?

Fan temp settings in PCM? Yes. PCM = Powertrain Control Module ECM = Engine Control Module ECU = Engine Control Unit TCM = Transmission Control Module VCM = Vehicle Control Module(s) BCM = Body Control Module But its somewhat vendor/manufacturer specific, and essentially ECM/ECU/PCM/VCM are intercha...

Re: E38 non communicative ECU

I'm not an E38 guy so there might be context I am not aware of here, but in general the whole flash process is bi-directional. It'd be incredibly unlikely that you have a software only fault that allows the pcm to run, but it just cant transmit, yet it'll passively sit on the bus, have the same secu...

Re: More ELM327 Fun (Read: Headaches)

The fact it was a chip, not an interface was probably a mis-step for elm as well as botching their 1.0 security and getting cloned straight away. Being a chip only there is no such a thing as a standard elm interface. Manufacturers are free to put whatever analog electronics they want around the chi...

Re: Tinkers Rides rb30 to delco

I looked up the RB30 firing order - its 1-5-3-6-2-4 So I figured that if the first 3 are 1-5-3 then it was likely the it'd go with the same pattern of the next 3 cylinders, (which were on the opposite stroke (exhaust) when the first half of the engine was compression and firing), So 6-2-4. Then to v...

Re: More ELM327 Fun (Read: Headaches)

hard to say without all the information, but one thought is it could just be low quality electronics and the timing is out just enough that the PCM cant decode it, even though the nano might have slightly higher tolerances, and/or see a slightly different waveform on the bus where it is. Try swappin...

Re: Trying to monitor the data bus with an ELM327

ELM has closed down, as far as I know everything is either a clone or alternate implementation but it is possible you have genuine, even if unlikely. According to their site they did make a 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 The problem is the cloners always try to copy the genuine and do not gracefully use differe...

Re: Trying to monitor the data bus with an ELM327

OBDLink is a rubbish product (my opinion). No 4x speed for VPW, lots of hardware failures reported here (though lots of hardware in the wild too), small buffers when used with pcmhammer at 1x speed. LS-Droid dropped support completely, and we get a lot of reports of trouble from PCMHammer users even...

Re: ABS rear vt-> body side connector

I reckon I have one out in the shed. My local wrecker doesnt give a shit if you cut the cable and take the connector with the sensor so I've gathered a few when collecting ABS sensors to use as triggers. Send me a PM about it.
