Re: VR Ute

The factory panels on these are a high quality steel with much better stiffness and spring, much lower corrosion and they could make them much thinner as a result and lighten the vehicle while adding safety and stiffness at the same time to get a similar net weight to stuff that was made in the deca...

Re: 12P voltage compensation vs batery voltage

I am pretty sure this is the voltage drop offsets for the ECU vs what is actually at the battery, so that it can apply that offset to the other offsets, that's my understanding of it anyway. This one is to be left stock as it's setup at factory, so unless you're wiring in the ECU and battery locatio...

Re: Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?

Looking at seeing if Dellow do a conversion kit, they do one for the Hilux with the same gearbox and as far as I can see, their kit doesn't extent the shaft, rather a whole new bell housing and clutch to suit the Toyota box and fork setup. The current setup, the engine is only about 50mm from the ra...

Re: Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?

That's basically the same bs conversion, Mark's 4x4 one. They simply don't work as intended. The bearing mounts to a big steel tube that slides in and out of a webbing cast into the bellhousing/adapter housing. It always jams, gets dust and crap in it, jams again and the bearing flops around. I had ...

Re: Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?

So, hit a dead end with the slave sizing. So my other options is to cut and weld the input shafts together using aT5 donor shaft. But that depends if the T5 one will fit through the Toyota font seal or not. The last option is to have a custom flywheel with the face extended some 70+ mm back and use ...

Re: Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?

I'll be getting a machine shop to do all the work. I don't have the equipment or the means to do it at home.

Re: Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?

I could make it work with 38mm. I plan to turn it down anyway as part of it already has a narrower section at 34mm but it's exactly not where I want it to be narrower, actually the whole female part of the shaft needs to be the thinner diameter. Will heat treating really be necessary? I already had ...

Re: Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?

Nah, it's a complete cluster f**k that fork setup due to how far from the engine the trans actually is and the weird double bell housing with a spider cast into the conversion bellhousing that hold a long sliding metal tube that houses the bearing. I re-engineered it, it was off it's face but just t...

Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?

Hi all, I am trying to locate a concentric slave with an ID of 40ish or more mm, maybe like 45mm ideally but I have come up empty handed after looking into this a few times over the last year or so. My nephew's 4Runner has been off duty for mostly 3 years now due to crap quality conversion from Mark...

Re: VR Ute

I saw years ago there where like these models that gave BT and other functionality to old classic radios. I am sure there are much more feature packed modules you'd be able to get now days. But you need to know the basics of the radio schematics or be able to figure it out to solder in the in and ou...
