Re: FS Tuning equipment, GQ-4X , PCM NVRAM, adapters, USB co

Believe it or not very well with noise canceling headphones. tested an old Triton on dyno at work making it "knock" with advance and was able to pick this up through headphones over mechanical noise very easily. have used on other vehicles through dyno work and has proven to be reasonably ...

Re: writing issues to SST27SF010

It depends on the XDF and the Author as to where it is placed. Most of the The1's stuff you will find it at the very bottom (but these don't need to be touched). In most XDF's where things haven't been broken down into sub categories it's normally found at the very top. yep I know where now. thanks...

Re: writing issues to SST27SF010

My bad, I've not worded things very well. The issue is the checksum, when you alter a factory bin the checksum is no longer correct and we need to ignore it. To do this we need to alter what is called the Program ID code . In a factory bin it usually identifies the actual bin/xdf code such as 51 ($...

Re: writing issues to SST27SF010

what files are you writing? just the factory ones? If so grab the zip file from the enhanced forum for those models and burn the bin files from those as above, it will work out of the box. http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2518 am modifying the $A5K with TP then saving and tryin...

Re: writing issues to SST27SF010

Are you selecting the correct device for the burner? Have you tried identifying the device to see what the burner is seeing the chip as? Which tuning files are you using? If you are using the standard bin files have you changed the Checksum values? I have tried using the standard bin files, what ch...

Re: writing issues to SST27SF010

most of this kind of failure is a probelm with the bin files being burnt. most common one is downloading in tunerpro which does give you a good calibration area, but not the code needed to run the car, so even after a succesful burn of the file you'll get a no-start situation. If this is the case a...
