Re: Tinkers Rides rb30 to delco
Pretty sure the confusing part is just that the V6 diagram and firing order is incorrect. GM uses standard numbering so a V6 is (front at left): Driver side (in AU/NZ!) 2 - 4 - 6 1 - 3 - 5 Passenger side and the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. This aligns with each coil firing pistons in the same posit...

Re: Can't find a large ID concentric slave, do they even exist?
I'm not familiar with the setup so just spitballing here, I assume it's something like this with an extension/adapter to the original input shaft? https://www.marks4wd.com/mfk129.html Where does the bearing need to mount, on the front of the shiny tube or using some sort of spider legs back to the b...

Re: VR Ute
Nice work and thanks for sharing. I'd think an amp with high level inputs (is that still a thing?) would be simpler than modifying the head unit and just as effective. If memory serves a hard-wired phone input may have been an option in which case it should be easy enough to get an aftermarket bluet...

Re: IAC flaring on EFI Hardware Throttle Body
Given the number of steps you're seeing it seems unlikely that there is a physical issue, you just need to tune it not to open so far. As long as the pintle seats correctly and it has a fairly consistent/incremental rate of opening then the overall hole size doesn't matter (other than noise). There ...

Re: Torana SS
Have been driving it a little and tweaking the tune to be close before turning on all of the closed loop settings. Most of it was adapted from what I had on the Delco which seems to have been a reasonable starting point. I kind of miss having the tablet to display some ECU info but figured out how t...

Re: Torana SS
@vlad01 The KC covers all use a thick flat gasket, normally cork but rubber usually also an option. As per the V8 ones in this thread. Tidying up some scope creep items this week. Prepped and painted the scuttle panel. It did need doing and I didn't have much choice since I'd already stripped the ol...

Re: Torana SS
That was the old VK, cap is just the half-turn style so not great. I made a custom one for the Torana, it has a flanged boss that bolts to the flat surface with a gasket, and an o-ring on the cap itself. In hindsight I probably should have welded the boss to the cover when I filled the grommet holes...

Re: Torana SS
Great, sounds promising. Haven't really done much with V6s in that area but based on V8 dimensions it doesn't surprise me that you only need a little extra - some guys get away with doubling up gaskets so they can make it look stock. I like the KC covers though on both engines. https://img.v8comp.co...
