I too would be looking at ignition. 80% duty is not a problem. Above this level you may start to lean out, but it won't cut out. An overly RICH mixture can cause what you are seeing. What do you have to do the hardware cylinder select on the memcal to make this work?

Have you turned off anti theft in the $12 bin? This could account for the no start.

Injector timing only applies to Sequential ECU's ie. VSV6 onwards.
All of the earlier stuff fires the injectors either simultaneously, or in 2 groups (VrV6).
