OHMS for injectors????

Post by TTVN »

ok guys i know i have to run high imp injectors with the delco but is there a calculation on how to work out the maximum impedence ????

like 8 16 ohm injectors = ????
id like to use a pair of EA throttle bodies for a project but the injectors are 1.2 ohm each and there would be 4 of them

im asumimn the impedence is too low and will need a big squirt to run them but what are the calcs for working it out

cheers rod

Parallel impedance is way too hard after a few beers but basically yeah 1.2 ohm is low impedance and wont work. You could try and series them up BUT, they will either fry the injector driver or not work properly. The big squirt does not do peak and hold like low impedance drivers should so they never flow as much as the spec says. The '808 has the provision on the PCB for a peak and hold circuit but not sure if the FMD chip allows it.
