Hi all,
Wondering how hard it would be to replace the eng/PCM wiring from a vs to a vt.
Problem is I have a hilux conversion and the VS wiring has gone to crap.
Firing of a heap of codes and generaly being a PITA.
I have checked all of the usual wear spots but no good.
If I convert over to VT a system is it worth while ?
At least I would have a "Younger" syste.
THX

I should not write these post's in the dark.
Anyway,
I am well aware of the differences by going by the wiring diagrams but what I want to know
is is it worth doing?
I am going to apply "The Earth Fix" as it is by my diags that I have an internal earthing
problem within the eng. loom.
I am thinking that somewhere the wiring is breaking down and causing reliabilty issues.
Anyone??

If you have a wiring fault causing issues and cant find it then yeah anything will be better! But there is prob litle to no difference in terms of performance on a stock engine, in fact you will lose a few things using a VT PCM - CEL for one. If you dont use the BCM will have the same issue now with no low speed fan on the VS PCM (it can be fixed with some bin changes), plus if you have AC will lose the A/C sense (to tell the PCM to engage the compressor) as that is handled by the VT BCM.

Thanks for that.
I got arond the thermofan issue by using a 12v controller.
That was before I found this site.
So thats why there is a lot of "Chatter" on a VT serial bus then.
bugger.
I would say that in using a VT BCM as well adds another level of complexity for a 4x4.
Besides, You do not want to be stuck under a gum tree in the middle of nowhere with a funny look on your face wondering what to do next eh?
Post in troubles coming up.
Thanks for the reply.
Cheers.
