Do you have some kind of terminals that you can slot over the pins of the aldl interface?
Check the diagram here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On-board_d ... _connector
if you can connect pin 5 of the aldl interface to pin 5 in the car, and pin 9 of the aldl interface to pin 1 in the car, then send F2,56,A,AE with the flash tool that might do it. if you try it, let us know.
or if you can move pins in the obd port on the car, pop pin 1 and 9 out and install pin 1 in the position of 9 then try (swap back afterwards for normal logging).

Re: 98 vt srs light
hi well i changed the pins and sent the command through but nothing happens.
I went and borrowed the reset tool from my old work and that reset so i know the system is ok but the car has gone now but i might drag my vs out of the shed and continue trying to work this out.
I can use the scan tool anytime i want so i was thinking if i tee into the aldl plug and use the flashtool whether i can catch the command?
Anyway thanks for your help so far
Cheers.

Yeah you can log the command that way. use the monitor chatter function of the flash tool.
Note that on later models you dont get a reply, but you power cycle the car and the light goes out (and comes back on again after a few seconds if the fault is still present).

Re: 98 vt srs light
Hi antus, yes I was turning the power cycle to make sure as that is the same as the tool I used to use.
Well if I get time I will bring mine out from under the covers and do some more testing.
Cheers.

Which version of the command did you send? (Was the first byte F2?)
Joe.
