CJYM3003 vs DRRT

Post by ToyHicko »

Ok I have just been asking to disable the VATS on a CJYM chip but after looking up on the forum here these were recalled and DRRT was the replacement but this seem to be a hard program to get. Anyone know what the reason for the recall was?

Is it worth taking it to holden and asking for the update?

id have to look up my notes again i can have a look tonight if you wish.

From memory it was an issue with injectors not firing on warm restart due to a bug in the code that didn't reboot the pcm properly on key turn.

Yeh these updated bins i have not been able to get ahold of. There is DRRR the 195kw bin with the key fix in memcal id.

OK thanks

Rang the local Holden dealer and didn't know anything about the change in program.

Just had a quick look at the bin in your ID tool (The1) is it just me or is the VATS already disabled? or is the address incorrect.

Cheers

Here's the info from one of the holden updates

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Customers may complain of being unable to re-start the engine after moving the ignition key back to the ‘accessory’ position, EG: For short term stops where the ignition switch is not turned to the “off” position for ignition key removal. Vehicles suffering from this complaint can be started by fully switching off the ignition, waiting 20 seconds, and then starting the engine. The cause of this inability to restart is software related, whereby the engine “run” injector pulse width signals are retained in memory when the key is not cycled to the “Off” position. This minimal pulse width remains available in memory for re-starting, but will not provide the “start” injector pulse width (richness) to allow the engine to re-start.

Memcals with this condition are:
CJYN 175 Kw Auto
CJYM 175 Kw Manual
CNPD 195 Kw Auto
CNPC 195 Kw Manual

Revised memcal details:
DRRP 175 Kw Auto
DRRT 175 Kw Manual
DRRS 195 Kw Auto
DRRR 195 Kw Manual

try 3817 bit 3, let me know if it works, should be right, seems like the VTV8 might be wrong as well by the looks.
