ALDL Logger V2
Moved this topic to the ALDL forum as there are no more available. Updates to firmware etc will still be added to this thread though.
These have come along way in terms of features since the first prototype. Some of the features are....
- Supports ALDL (VR and later for aussie vehicles) or RS232 interfaces ('808)
- Uses TunerPro ADX files for configuring with logging in XDL format to the SD card
- RealTime clock for time stamping logs
- Graphic LCD with adjustable backlight displaying current vehicle data (user configurable from ADX)
- User upgradable Firmware
- Command sending using mode 4
- Auto logging/recording start or external trigger
- 4 high resolution and accuracy (10bit and better than 1%) analog inputs and 2 digital inputs (frequency or on/off) that are recorded with the vehicle data in the TunerPro XDL
- Audible alarm and external output for fault triggering (alarm high/low in ADX)
- Read and write to NVRAM ECUs and PCMs
- Read flash PCMs, write will happen in a future firmware update
- PassThrough ALDL so the logger can be used as a USB ALDL interface for tuning or logging.
- PassThrough logging of the vehicle and logger so you can log 4 analog and 2 digitals while logging the car. Multiple widebands on any PCM
- Optional accelerometer.
For those that have a logger V2 the latest firmware and instructions can be downloaded here ..

Re: FS: ALDL Logger V2
I can vouch for these, best thing I ever did for data logging while racing!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

VL400 can you put me down for one of the Black case loggers.
Loved V1 and this sounds even better.

Re: FS: ALDL Logger V2
Very interesting. Seems like a much better proposition than having a laptop in the passenger foot well for logging purposes when going down the strip.

Re: FS: ALDL Logger V2
yeah and that's why I got one, at the drags they don't really like you having anything that could move and hit you in a crash so a laptop is a bit of a concern!
also a bonus which I utilise is using message 6 to log only what I need, and I can get 2 to 3 times more data this way rather than logging everything!

Re: FS: ALDL Logger V2
Yeah and a lot less questions get asked compared to having a laptop in the car.
Message 6 along with your extra analog items (wideband, fuel pressure etc) on the logger aux inputs without a hit on logging/recording speed

Re: FS: ALDL Logger V2
How much data/time can you log if your logging everything?

Re: FS: ALDL Logger V2
Have never reached a maximum that TunerPro or the logger can handle, but the monitor screen in TP only went to 1hr along the bottom before starting over. A 3 or 4 hour log was the largest I have used and wasnt a problem, but took a bit of time for TP to open. From memory was still only 10MB or something for a VT logging both engine and trans messages, so with a 1gb card you could log non stop for a few days
Re: FS: ALDL Logger V2
they're a great unit! What is the firmware version up to?
