VE V8 Auto to Manual Conversion Programming
I've been asked to look into whats needed to convert a VE V8 from auto to manual & I thought it wouldn't have been that hard...
Well none of the modules really want to communicate nicely from ABS errors to Dash speedo & gear setting errors & you name it.
It's even had SPS update every module to a new VIN that is Manual from Factory & still has errors.
Has anyone come across this & found a way around it?

Got no experience with this but isn’t this what’s needed?

Nah unfortunately not that easy, you could do a write entire of the ECM to suit manual with original VIN but then the IC & EBCM both crack the sads & start to throw errors & things stop working.

What sort of errors?

Re: VE V8 Auto to Manual Conversion Programming
I only sort of half looking into this half way through issues but believe there were configuration miss-match errors, & then dash either showing gear settings or speedo not working depending on which configuration used & the ABS with various errors but mainly 4 wheel speed sensor codes.
I have been told that it can be sorted by taking "ALL"(not knowing how many exactly or how long/hard it is to take them ALL out) modules out & send them away & have to use CUSTOM software & will get them all programmed & matched for $880.
But surely there has to be a simpler & cost & time effective way that someone else has tried, especially seeing most of these modules are used in the rest of the world but in particular USA they would have done all this before on any of their GM/Chevy series.

I really can't help but cant you turn off all the auto stuff in the ECU and go from there? Just my thought.

If only it was that easy, that’s basically what the first response was too, but no just changing the ecu to full manual setup doesn’t help.
Re: VE V8 Auto to Manual Conversion Programming
Some modules needs configured with vehicle options when new. The issue is that the configuration is one time only[when installed] and when ign cycle timer expires they stay there permanently.
Maybe with some t2 you can try if there is option that can be recofigured in the problem modules. That may fix the issue, or change modules for new and configure than[a liitle risky before checking with t2 if it is possible].
