Fuel Consumption - What does X represent.
In the definitions under "fuel consumption" it reads and returns a value "x" which then is used in the calculation to try and get live fuel usage.
Does anyone know what the value of "x" is representing ?
Is it something like milliliters per km perhaps ? Where I might even think it is possibly Liters per Hour when divided by 100.

I believe X is the number generated by the PCM that is then used to calculate the actual fuel usage.

I agree and realize that. I am actually wanting to know what the value of x represents.immortality wrote:I believe X is the number generated by the PCM that is then used to calculate the actual fuel usage.

the value is worked off injector pulse time.

And you bet there is a little formula to determine that.

Do you know what that value is in it's units of what then?The1 wrote:the value is worked off injector pulse time.

It might help if you told us what computer / os you are talking about, and what piece of data. there is various fuel options that you could be referring too, all of which have an X in the associated ADX. Which, if you have an ADX, is where you should be looking for the equation. If you dont you should be looking at whats known about similar generation / family as the equation is likely the same.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

I am referring to the value that is claiming it is being read as the cars "Fuel consumption" value within the cars computer.antus wrote:It might help if you told us what computer / os you are talking about, and what piece of data. there is various fuel options that you could be referring too, all of which have an X in the associated ADX. It is on a VX 2002 v6 n/a. Using the Enahanced ADX which is what i was advised to be using.
The formula within the adx doesn't calculate a recognisable figure such as L/Hr or even L/km. So without knowing what the value being returned (value given to X) it is not possible to work to correct the formula for a desired and accurate result.
