Os identification question
Hey fellas iam new to using pcm hammer and tuning in general. I have tried to search for the correct Os identification number for my pcm. But I can't find it mine is Os ID 127005 out of a 2000 VT ss commodore. Do I use the Universal patcher to find a suitable one?

Does PCMHammer using the Properties Button report that it is 127005 ??
I suspect that would be a custom Proprietary Operating System by HPTuners.

Oh okay that's a good thought it has a tune and a tuner lock on the pcm I opened the case and forced it to unlock it briefly to retrieve the file I did that successfully here is picture of it []

1271005 is a custom OsID ...
You have the bin off it ??
If you do, you can get the Key from the bin at 4002/4003 (or 6002/6003), and use PCMHammers ability to use a user defined Key to unlock it from now on.
The seed is at 4000(or 6000) and 4001(or 6001).
If not, it's easy to brute force with Universal Patcher and get the Key.
Opening a PCM these days and shorting it out is not necessary, there are better ways.
I prefer not to contaminate the interior of the unit.

Shorting it is still the only quick way though. Brute force can take up to 3 days. Thats the trade off.

Then you should be ok, yes use universal patcher, it should find most the tables. Those operating systems are nearly identical to the factory ones, just some small patches on top for extra features. That should allow universal patcher to identify most things. Alternatively if you can figure out what the factory OS is that the patch was applied to, you can use an XDF for that if one is available. Being a commodore I am guessing it'd be 12202088 or 01/02 models or 12225074 for 03/04 models, though its possible the tuner who installed the COS used something else.

If you just want to get rid of tunerlock and put it back to stock, get a bin from another PCM and user tools -> Write Full Flash (clone) after shorting the pin to unlock it, and that'll write in a whole new operating system and all the identification stuff in the param block which will remove tunerlock and set the security back to standard, too.
