lookin good vl400, im new to all this and have spent the last few 'full' days on this site reading through everything, (thanks vl400 and holden202 for the basic tutorials)
going to buy the NVRAM ECM Conversion, and was going to get the 'USB Communications Boards' but that wouldnt be compatable with this when it becomes avaliable because the logger has RS232.
so would i be better off just geting the RS232 Communications Boards or do you think when the logger is finished it may have a usb port?
cheers

The SXR emulator board will allow the USB comms board and the logger to work on an 808. Its not just a case of USB-USB connection though, would need to wire in a connector that the logger can plug in to. Will post more info about it later when the loggers are closer to ready, but it can be done

whichever suits you best, if you don't have a need for a serial interface then you'd be best getting a usb interface, otherwise if you get a serial interface then you'd also need to get a serial to usb adaptor to make it work.

aslong as the interface you have is compatible. some chipsets are known to work perfectly (FTDI) but others are not so good!

Having an FTDI USB adapter the RS232 board is def the easiest way to go for the moment, you use the same standard DB9-DB9 cable to connect either a laptop or the logger.
