L31 won't rev using 0411 pcm.

They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

L31 won't rev using 0411 pcm.

Post by Boostedforlife »

Okay looking for advice on this.

Motor is fresh l31 flat top pistons stock cam intake and k&n intake long tube headers. New fuel pump fuel pressure doesn't drop when trying to throttle( increase to 58 psi). The motor will rev to about 2000 then fall to about stall, then rev back at wide open. Tps reads fine. The tune is a 2156 os out of express van with segment swap to manual because it a non electric auto trans.

Is there something in the bin that would cause this? Did I segment swap it wrong?

I will post bin and log this after for some to peak at.

And suggestions on what to log? That might point me in the right direction.

Spark advance is one that I would log for sure.

I wouldn't have used a manual segment. You could have just changed the trans type to a non-electric type.

Okay I'll try that spark advance was at 17-20° at idle but will log it and post.

As for the Trans type the xdf said I shouldn't change that and didn't want to brick it. But it's a pretty old xdf might look at universal patches tuning see what it's go.

Does anyone know the pid for cpk erg retard( think that's what other scan tools call it) to set the distutor to 0. I know snap-on and teck-ii have it don't think Ive seen it on pcmlpgger though. But might be different name.

Injector data probably very different. Can you tell if it's lean or rich during stall? MAP the same? Cam offset will set a dtc if it's not close. I've wanted to do this conversion on a lt1 so please share the diagnostic process.

The only distributor related pid I know of is cam offset or CMP offset. You align distributor with crank sensor signal to within +/- 4°

Turn off abuse management The ECM isn't getting signal from the transmission to say its in park. Had the same problem with a manual trans

necro-posting on this thread, wanted to share my experience

I have not had any success segment swapping anything to a manual. The symptom is similar, where the engine will idle but has no throttle response, will rev to about 2k then completely stop for about a second. Its not even like abuse mode where its pulling timing, its like it cuts the fuel for a full second. I have tried turning off abuse mode to no effect.

Now, rather than segment swapping, i just use an auto trans tune, and disable all the transmission diagnostics. Then up the idle speeds, rev limiters, and make the park/gear tables all the same. So far, this has worked for many swaps with manual and non electronic autos.

i'm sure there is some stuff that doesnt quite work how it should but you can always look at manual tune from a different engine and see what needs to be added, like clutch based DFCO, etc

I thought the Allison was only behind the diesel and the 8.1l? My friend did this on a 7.4l and it would only Rev close to 5k, he never did get it figured out and swapped to carb. Would like a copy of a working bin if anyone is willing to share.
