Hiya,
Here is a "report" of your file. It appears VATS is at address 4DD8E. stock is 00 and no VATS is 01.

Solitaire, what did you use to read the bin from the black box ECM?
Re: delco ecu identify and VATS off
The posted bin is chip dump and needs to be byteswapped, before doing anything to it.

Hiya Folks
Shoot, it was typical Hell Monday and I just quickly threw out some numbers off the .cal file that TunerCat created. I apologize for the mistake. Give me a bit of time and I will byte swap and find all the addresses that get changed and then correct in the .bin file. It's been since about year 2000 I have done this

Just curious, why mess with the black box? Assuming you know you can repin a p01 to run these engines as they came in the vans.

You can flash black box with the dimented24x7 black box flash tool if you have an AVT 852 cable.
It would be something that could probably be put in PCM Hammer one day, if anyone wanted to put time in to it. I dont think the Black Box has any secrets we still need to figure out. Its just the time and effort to implement.

I'm from Lithuania and here this ECU is very rare.Cincinnatus wrote:Just curious, why mess with the black box? Assuming you know you can repin a p01 to run these engines as they came in the vans.
Unfortunately don't have AVT852, I have many adapaters (passhtru, CAN, k-line) and various programmers.antus wrote:You can flash black box with the dimented24x7 black box flash tool if you have an AVT 852 cable.

Hiya Folks,
Solitaire, I apologize for the delay just been super hectic/busy working. I can't remember if I need to byte flop the entire .bin file or just segments and I haven't stumbled across all my notes from back in the day. I realized I only did ONE chip dump and from then on I was speaking through the OBD2 port via TunerCats, John and I worked heavily together back in 2000 on this and I had the "bible" from GM at the time.
kur4o, maybe you could help this seemingly simple task?
antus, yes, I don't see why PcmHammer cannot do this and when I get some free time I will help.
